Like Life Savers? How about a calorie-free version guaranteed to burn calories? This work party will focus on creating "tree life savers" around the trees. After cutting the ivy vines away from a tree at shoulder length, we pull the vines down and away from the trees. This separates the growing ivy attached to the tree from the ivy root system, killing the ivy on the tree. Meet near the Maintenance Center at Priest Point Park. We will then walk to the area as a group. Plenty of parking available. The park is located at 2600 East Bay Drive NE.
For all work parties, please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots that can get wet and muddy. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle. Youth under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult and all youth under 18 years of age must have a signed waiver to participate. All ages are welcome! Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to park and sign in.
